TAIWAN, HONG YU - AMBER TEA
Hong Yu is a truly unique tea recently developed by the Taiwan Tea Research and Extension Station in the hills surrounding the Sun Moon Lake tea factory in Nantou county, Central Taiwan.
Hong Yu is produced from a plant variety that is a cross between the assam strain from Burma and a local Taiwanese wild strain. It’s grown naturally and is pesticide free keeping in line a commitment to sustainable and regenerative production methods.
The research facility settled on growing this variety in Yuchi town for it’s perfect growing conditions. Hong Yu is a fully oxidised tea and the result is a really unique, velvety cup with great complexity.
Available in 60 gram canisters.
For best results, brew at 95 degrees for 2 minutes. Use a dose of 1.4 grams for 100 ml of water. Infuse multiple times. This tea is best enjoyed without milk.
